RELATIVE, HIGH STREET BRIDGE.
WHEREAS, the High Street Bridge has been condemned, cannot be used and
must be dismantled; that the United States War Department di a on May 14, 1927 in
the exercise Of its jurisdiction over the Sap Antonio Estuary and Tidal Canal re-
fuse permission to repair the High Street Bridge and intimated that all existing
pier bridges must be removed from the Estuary and Oanal; and
WHEREAS, in Street Bridge has teen en essential, arterial communication
tetzeen the cities of Alameda and Oakland; therefore te it
RESOLVED, that the Alameda City Council urge the Board of Supervisors of
Alameda County before ()losing its budget for the newt fiscal year to make provislin
for the immodiate replacement of High Stroot Bridge; and be it further
ESOLVED, that the Alameda City Council solicit the cooperation of the
Oakland City Council and the Harbor Commission of the City of Oakland in urging the
Board of Supervisors to replace the High Street Bridge and that a committee of three
be appointed t oonfer wlth the said Council and Commission and to present the situs-
tion to the Board of Supervisors of Alameda County.
