CLOSING A smALI, PORTION OF THE 80125 12121T EN1 0 BAY STREET.
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Alameda passed and adopted it Reso-
lution of Intention No. 84, New series, under and by virtue of the terms of which
said council declared its intention to arder the closing up of a small ?Portion of
the northern end of Bay Street described as follows;
All that certain piece or parcel of land situate, lying
and being in the City. of Alameda, County of Alameda, State of
California, and more particularly described as follows:
Commencing at a point on the easterly line of Bay Street,
said point being distant northerly thereon 150 feet, from the
northerly line 03 Eagle Avenue, (said point being also ,the north-
west corner of Lot 28, in Block 0 of the Page Tract) and running
thence northerly along the easterly line of Bay Street, to it
intersection with the southerly line of Tract 24, as said tract
is delineated and so designated upon that certain map entitled
"Map of Alameda Marsh Land as partitioned among the owners thereof
in the suit No. 8923 and entitled Pacific Improvement Company,
Plaintiff, vs., James A. Waymire, et al, Defendants, Superior
Court of Alameda County, State of California", and filed July 50,
1900, in the office of the county Recorder of Alameda County in
map book 25, pages 74 to 76, and running thence N. 60' 04' W.,
along said southerly line of Tract 24 to its intersection with the
westerly line of Bay street; thence southerly along said westerly
line of Bay street, to a point distant northerly thereon 150 feet,
from the northerly line of Eagle Avenue, ,(said point being also the
southeast corner of Lot 15, in Block 1, of the page Tract); thence
at right angles easterly 60 feet, to the point of commencement,
and
AHEREAS, in accordance with said resolution and an act of the legislature
of the state of california entitled. "An act to provide for laying out and opening,
extending, widening, straightening or closing up, in whole or in part, any street,
square, lane, alley, court or place within municipalities and to take 2nd acquire any
and all land and property necessary or convenient for that purpose", approved March 6,
1859, said council caused the eassage and publication cf the resolutions, notices and
advertisements required by law, and
WEEREAS, it appears that the Street Superintendent caused to be con-
spicuously posted "Notices of Public Work" as required top law; and
[HERDS, no objections against said work and improvement have been made
against maid closing as required by law, and
HEREAS, the council finds that public interest and convenience require the
closing ur and abandoning of that small portion of the northern end of Say Street
aforedescrited, now therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that said small portion of the northern end of Bay Street be and
the same is hereby closed and abandoned for street and highway purposes, in order to
straighten out the end of said street and save the public expense of paving the same
and keeping it in repair.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly
and regularly introduced and adopted. hy the Council of the City of Alameda in regular
meeting assembled on the 15th day of May, 1928, by the following vote, ;:t-wit:
