ROSOLUTION URGING DISSOLUTION OF THE BAY ?ARM
ISLAND RECLAMATIO:1 DISTRICT.
WHEREAS, on Jane 3, 1921, the legislature created the Bay ?arm
/Blend Reclamation Dietrict for reclaiming of land from the tide waters of
San Leandro and San Frencisoo Bays, and
WHEREAS, the cities of Alameda and Oakland subsequently purchased
large tracts of land within said district and have expended considerable money'
in reclamation wort within said distriot, end
liEREAS, the district court of appeals has rendered a decision
holding that public) property within said district cannot be assessed for
reclamation work, and
WHEREAS, public interest and convenience demands that said district
be diseolv d, now therefore be it
RESOLVED, by the council of the City of Alameda, that our
representatives in the legislature be end they are hereby requested to repeal
the act of 1921 creating said district.
RESOLVED, that a oopy of thie resolution be sent to Hon. T. C. west,
Hon. A. H. Breed and Hon. Roy Biehop.
I, the undereigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was
duly and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda
in regular meeting assembled on the 5th day of February, 1929, by the following
vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Calcatt, Latham, Neiss, Noble end
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
