RESOLUTION NN.DORSIN G RETIREMENT SYSTEU NOR
OITY EMPLOYEES.
WHEREAS, it is our opinion that public intereet, and proper
appreciation of long and faithful service, demand the establishment of
a retirement pension system for our municipal employees, such as the
system adopted by the voters of many other cities, including San
Trancieco and Oakland, and
AiliREAS, an ordinance providing for the establishment of
such a system haa been carefully prepared under the counsel of a
qualified insurance actuary, by the terms of which it is provided
that the employees 'rill contribute one-half the expense of maintaining
said system, while the other one-half will be borne by the city at
an expense of approximately —three cents (3) on the annual tax levy,
now therefore, be it
RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Alameda, that in
placing said ordinance on the ballot at the forthcoming municipal
election, the members of the council commend it to favorable con-
sideration of the voters and urge its adoption.
I, the undereigned, hereby certify that the foregoing
Reeolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted by the
Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on
the 5th day of Pebruary, 1929, by the following vote, to-wit:
AYES: Councilmen Calcutt, Latham, Neiss. Noble and
President Otie, (5).
