APPOINTING ANP EMPLOYING BURNETT HAMILTON ENGINEER 09' WORK
WHEREAS, public interest, convenience and necessity demand the improvement
of Santa Clara Avenue from the eastern line of Webster Street to the western line
cf High Street in the City of Alameda, and the council of said city has decided to
take proceedings for making said improvement under and pursuant to the provisions
of the "Acquisition and Improvement Act of 1925", and
WHEREAS, it is desirable at this time to appoint an "Engineer of Work"
as provided ,by Section .3 of said act, now therefore be it
R3SOLVED, by the Council of the City of Alameda, that Burnett Hamilton
(a competent ensineer), be and he is hereby appointed and employed as "Engineer
of Work" for the purpose of doing and furnishing all the civil engineering work
and services, surveying and ell similar work and cervices necessary to the proper
performance of said work and improvement, to-wit:
The grading and paving of Santa Clara Avenue from the eastern line of
Webster Street to the western line of High Street, under and pursuant to the
provisions of the Acquisition and Improvement Act of 1925.
RESOLVED, also, that said Burnett Hamilton be and he is hereby appointed
and designated as the oompetent person for preparing and furnishing the specifications
for making said improvement, and he is hereby directed to prepare the same including
all plans, profiles and cross-sections necessary therefor, together with a statement
of the estimated cost of the improvement (inclusive of incidental expenses and costs
of the proceeding), a description of the district to be benefited by the proposed
improvement and e map showing the same, and also the different, zones within said
district (if any are necessary because of varying benefits), also the grades to which
the contemplated improvements are to be constructed, and such other matters and
things as ere required by the provisions of said act.
RESOLVED, that whereas said Burnett Hamilton is now city engineer of said
city under salary, he be and is hereby appointed es said engineer of work und
designated to prepare eaid specifications without any other compensation than that
which he now receives as city engineer of said city.
1, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was
duly and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda
in regular meetinE assembled oa the 19th day of Yetruary, 1029, by the following
