IN THE MATTER () ACQUISITION AND IM?ROVEMENT
DISTRICT NO. 2 OT THE CITY 0.1, ALAMEDA
APPOINTING AND EMPLOYING BURNETT HAMILTON ENGINEER 0? WORK
WHEREAS, Public interest, convenience and necessity demand the
improvement of Bdena Vista Avenue from the eastern line of Webeter Street
to the western line of 'ark Street in the City of Alameda, and the council
of said city has decided to take proceedings for making said improvement
under and pursuant to the provisions of the "Acquisition and Improvement
Act of 1925", and
:WHEREAS, it is desirable at this time to appoint an "Engineer
of work" as provided by Scotian 3 of said act, now therefore be it
RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Alameda, that Burnett
Hamilton (a competent Engineer), be and he is hereby appointed and
employed as "Rngineer of Work" for the ptrpose of doing and furnishing
all the civil engineering work and services, surveying and all similar
or and services necessary to the proper performance of ssid work and
improveMent, to-wit:
The grading and paving of Buena Vista Avenue from the eastern
line of Webster Street to the western line of Park Street, under and
pursuant to the provisions of the Acquisition and Improvement Act of
1925.
RESOLVED, also, that said Burnett Hamilton be and he is hereby
appointed and designated as the competent person for preparing and
furnishing the specificaticns for making said improvement, and he is
hereby directed to prepare the same including ell plans, profiles and
cross-sections 'necessary therefor, together with a statement of the
estimated cost of the improvement (inclusive of incidental expenses
and costs of the proceeding), a description of the district to be
benefited by the proposed improvement and a map showing the same, and
also the different zones within said district (if any are necessary
because of varying benefits), also the grades to which the contemplated
improvement are to be construeted, end such other matters and things
as ere required by the provisions of said act.
RESOLVED, that whereas said Burnett Hamilton is now city
engineer of said city ender salary, he be and is hereby appointed as
said engineer of work and designated to prepare said specifications
without any other compensation than that which he now receives as city
engineer of said city.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City
of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 19th day of -.ftbreary, 1929,
