RESOLUTION NO. 1414
APPOINTDC AND EMPLOYING BURNETT HAMILTON ENGINEER C dORK
WHEREAS, public interest, convenienoe and necessity demand the
iMprovement of Park Street, from the an Antonio Estuary to the northern
otitae line of San Jose Avenue in the City of Alameda, and the council of
said city has decided to take proceedings fcr making said improvement
under and pursuant to the provisions of the "Acquisition and Improvement
Act of 1925", and
WHEREAS, it is desirable at this time to appoint an "Engineer
of Wore as provided by section 3 of eaid act, now therefore be it
RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Alameda, that Burnett
Hamilton (a competent engineer), be and he ie hereby appointed and employed.
as "Engineer of Work" for the purpose of doing and furnishing all the civil
engineering work and eervices, surveying and all similar work and services
necessary to the proper performance of aaid work and improvement, to wit:
That Park Street, from its northern termination at the San
Antonio Estuary tc the northern curb line of San Jose Avenue,
be improved as follews:
That the roadway thereof he widened three and one-helf (3i)
feet on each side to the new curb lines, have ooncrete curbs,
getters, getter bridges and corrugated iron culverts eel:retreat,
ed thereon of the number, size and in the locations shown eni the
plans and specifications hereinafter referred to, and that the
sidewalks thereof be repaired: also that the readway, where
widened, be paved with an asphaltic concrete pavement between
said estuary and the southern curb line of St.:al:nal .Avenee, and
an oil macadam pavement between said Encinal Avenue and the
northern curb line of San Jose Avenue.
RESOLVED, also, that said Burnett Hamilton be and he is hereby
appointed and designated as the competent person for preparing and furnish-
ing the epecifioationc for making said improvement, and he is hereby direct-
ed to prepare the same including all plans, profiles and croseeseetione necessary
therefor, together with a statement of the estimated cost of the improvement
(inclusive of leeidentel expenses and outs of the proeeeding), a description
of the district to be benefited by the proposed improvement and a map showing
the same, and elan the different zones within said district (if any are neces-
sary beoause of varying benefits), also the grades to ?Lich the contemplated
improvements are to be constructed, and ouch other matters and things as
are required by the erovisione of said act.
RESOLVED, that whereas said Burnett Hamilton le now city engineer
of said city under salary, he be and is hereby appointed as said engineer of
work and designated to prepare e'id specifications without any other comeenaation
than that which he now receivee as city engineer of said city.
I, the undersigned, hereby eertif$ that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of
Alameda, in regular meeting assembled on the 3rd day of September, 1929, by
the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Bredereen, Calcutt, Henning, Latham and President
Schaefer, (5).
