RE DEVELOPMENT OF GOVERNMENT ISLAND
WHEREAS, the lit, of Alameda, at an election held on November 4,
1930, did, by an overwhelming vote, grant to the United States Government 15
acres of lend on Government Island for it several governmental activities;
now, therefore be it
RESOLVED, by the Council of the Oity of Alumeda, that said Council
rejects any proposition that will affect the present status of Government
Ieland, which was submitted to the electorate of Alameda on November 4, 1930.
RESOLVED, further, that the Council of the Oity of Alameda takes ex-
ception to any proposition submitted by any political body in the Oity of
Oakland which proposition effects the present etatue of Government Island.
RESOLVED, further, that the Council of the City of Alameda places
itself on record in requesting the Federal Government to accept the 15 acres
of ground on Government Island, aepassed in Public Resolution No. 104 of the
71st Congress, and approved July 3, 1930.
R3SOLVED, further that the electorate of the Oity of Alameda has
expressed itself, on two different occasions, as to its desires in regard to
the development of Government Leland, and Brooklyn Basin; and the Council of
the City of Alameda feels, in passing this resolution, that it is expressing
the will and desire of the people of Alameda in regard to the development of
this portion-of Alameda's inner harbor.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was
duly and regularly introduced end adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda
in adjourned regular mooting assembled on the 24th day of April, 1931, by the
following vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Brodersen, Leydecker, Murray, Schaefer end Council
President Henning, (5).
NOES: None,
ABSENT: None.
ITT TESTIMONY WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the
official seal of said city this 27th day of April, 1931.
