URGING- CONTINUANCE OF :au.,ILL ARmY AND NAVY FOOTBALL

NETER:INS, for a number of years last past, the Army and Navy have, played
their annual football gamc . at the Memorial Stadium, Berkeley, California; and,
WHEREAS, owing to conflicting dates, the annual game for 1533 has been ab-
andoned; and,
WEEREAS, President Sproul of the University of California has given his
consent for the use of the Memorial Stadium on November 11, 1.934 for the 1534,
Army and Navy football game; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVE:), by the Council of the City of Alameda, that the offer of
President 57)roul should be accented by the Army and Navy authorities, whereby the
people of the San Francisco Bay district will be afforded the opportunity to
witness the annual Army and Navy football classic and military spebtacle, and
that n copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Commandant, 1Pth Naval District,
and the Commanding General, 5th Corps Area.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Piesolution was
duly and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the Citr of
Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 4th day of April, 1933, b, the
following vote, to wit:
AYES; Councilmen Leydecker, Morris, Snanly and President Murray (4).
NOES: None.
ABSENT: Councilman Schaefer, (1).
