=TEAS, it has been rm000sed that the. Legislature of the atate. of
California impose a tax upon sales to and. by municipal. comporations and.
upon recoipts of municipal corpotations; and
WHERETO', it hes 1C been the polioy of this and other States not to
impose any taxes for State pnrposes 'iron any such sales to or by municipal-
ities or on receipts cf municipal corporations; and
'WHEREAS, the imposition of such tax will. increase the heavy tax burden
now existing upon the taxpayers of pities and will result _n a shifting in
part of the atatets tax burden to cities; and
WHEREAS, the imposition of such tax will maku it necessary to ruirise
budgeted. income and expenditures,
TEIWEEFORR 13J: RESOLVED that the Council of tie City of• Alaneda
