URGING PEOPLE OF ALAMEDA. AND ALAMEDA COUNTY TO VOTE.

0 COURT HOUSE BOND ISSUE AT THE ELECTION OE
APRIL 3rd, 1934.
WEEREAG, the Board of Supervisors, on demand of nearly 27,000 voters of
Alameda County has called for April 3 a special election for resubmission of
a courthouse bond issue, defeated in December by 1000 votes, and
WHEREAS, the federal public works administration has extended until
April 4 its offer of 462,000 toward the construction of the building, which
money is to be an outright gift, and
JITENEA3, this federal grant, together with low building costs, offers
the people of the county an opportunity to construct a new, modern, fireproof,
sanitary building housing all the offices '. of the county government under one
roof, and
WEEREAS, this opportunity will peas forever if the issue is defeated April
3, and
NIEL:TEAS, construction of the building will provide jobs for several hundred
citizens of Alameda and Alaneda county, and
WHEREAS, the savings which will be effected by consolidating in a single
office building all the county offices which now are scattered over
several blocks in nine separate buildings will meet the cost of the bonds, and
WEBREAG, a new, modern office building will permit the removal and destruc-
tion of the two antiquated buildings which have been condemned many times as
dangerous for occupancy and which might be termed "the shame of Alameda County",
now therefore,
DE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the it of Alameda in assembly this 20th
day of March,- that this body urge the people of Alameda and of Alameda County to
vote. "'Yes" on the courthouse bond issue at the election April 3, 1934.

and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alaneda in
regular meeting assembled on the 20th day of March, 1934, by the following. vote,
to wit.:
AYES.: Councilmen Bruzzone, Eschen, Morris, Tiedemann and President
Ourray, (5).
NOES: None.
