DECLALING RESULT OF GENERAL NUMICTbAL ELECTION;
WHEREAS a general municipal election was held in the City of Alameda on
Tuesday, Nsvenbex 6, 16'34, under and pursuant to the provisions o Article X1
o° the Charter of said City, to fill offices on the Ci/y Council ef said City
for terns as follows:
Two long terms, each beginning on the third
Monday 11 April, ig35, and ending on. the
third Monday in December, 1°:8
One short term, ending on the third Monday in
April, 1837, being the remainder of the unex
pired term. of Janes M. Shanty, resigned;
One short term ending on the third Monday in
April, 1835; being thb remainber of tbb unex-
pired thrm of Otto A. Leydeoher, resigned, and
WHEREAS nondnating petitions were duly fileb and prbsented to the City
Clerk in the timb, form and 'manner prescribed by Sections 5 and G 10 said
Article Xl, nominating far said officeb the following persons, to-wit:

WEEREAS said nominations were entered in a list, with the offices to he filled,
which libt was certified to in tho time, form and manner required by Section 8 of
said Article whereupon an election proclamation, stating the time of the
election, the offices to be filled, and the names of the candidates, signed
by the mayor and attested by the City- Clerk, 110 duly and regularly published,
more than ten Mays before said election, three times in the Alameda Times Star,
the official paper of said City, 11 11
WHEREAS said genbral municipal election was, purnuant to lam, and (1 resolut-
ion end order of the City Council of said City and the 'Board of Supervisors of the
County of Alameda, State of California, duly- and regularly' consolidated with the
gL1 state election to be held on the shams day within the Cdty of Alonede, and

visors of the County of Alameda, Stebe of California, was duly and. regularly autnor-
ized to canvass thb returns of aaid general aluniciapal election, and to certify the

WHEREAS said general nunicipal election was duly and regularly held in e.oid
eity 10 the Gth nay of Novembbr, 1G34, and the returns of said election Caere, in
accordance with law in such cases made and provided, duly and regularly canvassed by
the Board of Supervisors of the Count of Alabbba, and the County Clerk pf said
County having certified to the Caty Clerk of the City or Alameda, and Lo thib Council
and it having been duly found, determined und declared by said Beard of Supervisors

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Alameda has
found, and hereby determines and declares that the total number of votes oast
in the City of Alameda for the persons nominated, and other persons voted for,
as Councilmen of said City of Alameda at said general municipal election are as
follows:
1. Total number of votes cast for members of the City Council of the
City of Alameda - 15,271
2. Dotal number of votes for each Councilman:

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, DETERMINED AND DECLARED, that the aforesaid Charles
Broyles and 2ruca A. Munro, Laving received xesuectively the highest number
of votes cast for the office of Councilman, were, and. are hereby, declared to be
duly and regularly elected as members of the Council of the (Pity of Alameda,
each for a term beginning at 5:00 o'clock P. L. on the third !Monday in April,
1755, and e oo . the third Monday in December, 1038, and watt' thc4r audoess-

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, DETERMINED AND DECLARED, that the aforesaid Haus W.
Hoccoe, having received the aext higher number of votes cast at sand election
for the office of Councilman, was, and is hereby, declared to be duly and reG-
ulorly elected so a member of the Council of the City of Alameda, for a term
beginning on this date, and ending on the third. Monday in April, 193'7, being
the remainder of the unexpired term pf Janes Y. Shanly, resigned, and until
his successor lo elected and qualified.
BE IT IMETWER RESOLVED, DETERMINED AND DECLARED, that the aforesaid John,
Tiodemenn,
5 received the next higher number of votes cast for the offhee
of Councilman, was, and is hereby, declared to be duly andhiegularly elected as
a member of the Council of the City of Alameda, for a term beginning on this
date, and eluding on the third Monday in April, 1936, being the ramainder of tho
unexpired term of Otto A. Leydecker, resigned, and until Phis successor is elect-
ed and qualified.
