CANCELLING CITY TAXES ON PROPERTY ACQUIRED BY CITY OF ALAMEDA
IOR PARK JNL PLAYGROUND PURPOSES.
WHEREAS the following described real property, situated in the City of Alameda,
County of Alameda, State of California:
BEGINNING at the point of intersection of the
Southern line of Lincoln Avenue, formerly Railroad
Avenue, with the Western line of Linden Street, formerly
Encinal Street; running thence Southerly along said line
of Linden Street Two Hundred Seventy feet to the point
of intersection thereof with the Northern line of
Haight Avenue; thence Westerly along said line of
Haight Avenue One Hundred Eighty-four feet, Three
inches, to the point of intersection thereof with the
Western boundary line of Lot Numbered 2, as shown on
the map hereinafter referred to; thence Northerly
along said Western boundary line Two Hundred Seventy
feet to a point on said Southern line of Lincoln
Avenue, formerly Railroad Avenue; thence Easterly
along said last named line One Hundred Eighty-four
feet, three inches, to the point of beginaing.
BEING a portion of Lot Numbered 2, as said lot
is delineated and so designated upon that certain map
entitled, "Map of the lands of the Teutonia Park and
Homestead Association at Alameda" - filed March 10,
1877, in Book 5 of Maps, at page 5, in the office of
the County Recorder of Alameda County,
has been assessed for eity purposes for the fiscal year 1936-37, in the total sum of
0106.24, as evidenced by tax bill No. 18440, to California Girls' Training Home, and
n:vREREAS after the time said assessment and taxes becene liens thereon, said
real property was, by deed recorded in the office of the County Recorder of Alameda County
on February 2, 1937, acquired, and ever since has been, and now is, owned by the City of
Alameda, a municipal corporation, and because of such public ownership is not subject to
sale for delinquent taxes, and
WHEREAS it was agreed by and between the City of Alameda and said California
Girls' Training Home that the city should assume all taxes assessed against said real
property for the fiscal year 1936-37,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA, with
the written consent of the City Attorney attached hereto, that the first and second
installments of city taxes for the fiscal year 1936-37, charged or levied for city pur-
poses upon the aforesaid real property, in the sum of 0106.24, be, and the same are
hereby cancelled, and the Auditor and Tax Collector respectively of the City of Alameda
are hereby authorized and directed to cancel the same on their respective books.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and
regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting
assembled on the 16th day of February, 1937, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Calcutt, Maurer, Morris, Weichhart and President Eschen,(5).
NOES: None. ABSENT: None.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hend and affixed the official seal
of said City this 17th day of February, 1937.

I, H. Albert George, City Attorney of the City of Alameda, State of California,
do hereby consent to the cancellation of any and all uncollected taxes and assessments
or penalties and costs thereon, charged or levied for city purposes upon the parcel of
real property described in the within resolution.
