ORDERING INS CLOSING OF THAT DORTION OF HARRISON AVSYSE
LYING BETTE= TEE EASTERLY LINE OF PEARL STREET ADD TEE
AESTEELY PINE Ov VERSAILLES AVENUE IN TES CITY OF ALAMEDA.
WHEREAS the Council of the.City of Alameda did, en. the 18th day of May,
1'937, pass E resolntibm declaring its intention tc order the closirAg up of that
portion of Harrison Avenue, formerly Washington Avenue, lying between the easterly
line df Pearl Street and the westerly line of Versailles Avenue, in the City of
Alameda. County of Alameda, State of California, and
WHEREAS no land was deemed necessary to be taken, or will be taken, for
the work and improvement of closing said street, and. the exterior boundaries of the
dustrict of lands to be affected or benefited by said work or improvemett, and
to be assessed to ray the damegds, costs and enpenses thereof, are the corporate
boundaries. of tho City of Alameda, and
WHEREAS it appoars that it is not necessary to assess ony lands to pay the
damages, costs and expenses of said improvement, end
WHEREAS on the 4231 nay of May, 1937, the Street SoperintenheRt of the
City of Alameda caused to be conspicuously posted along the lines of yid contemplated
work and improvement, at not more than 500 feat in distance apart, and not less tban
three in ail; notices of the passage of said resolution, in time, form and manner
required by law, and
WHERES. the said Street Superintendent. also caused a notice; similar in
substance, to be published for a period of ten days., in the Alameda Times-Star, a
daily newspaper of general circulation published and circulated in said City and.
designated by said. Council for that purpose, sain publication commeneing on the. 19th
day of May, 1231,•and continuing thereafter .in eseh and. every- issue of said newspaper
until and including the 29th day of Mayw 1937, and
WHEREAS proof of said posting. and publication is evidenced by affidavits
on file in the office. of the City Clerk of said City; and

to the extant of the district of lands to be affebted or bsnefitted h' said work and
improroment and to be assessed to pay the costs and enpenses thereof, has madewritten
objection to said work and improvement, and no written objection tc said work and
improvement has been filed. with. said City Clerk, 's: 13333 ten days after the expiration
of the time of the publication of said. notice, Or at any time or at all, and
WHEREAS the time pmescribed, during which. objections to said work and im-
provement could be made, has expired, and this Council haring aequited 51333,11 111 to
take action in said matter, and
THERNAS public interest and convenience require the closing up cf said portion
of said. avenue,

that portion of Harrison Avenue, formerly Washington Avenue, lying between tho easterly
line of Pearl Street and the westerly line of Versailles Avenue, in the City of Alameda,
County of Alameda State of California, be and. the SZMR is hereby ordered to be, closed
utp and abandoned.
