EMPLOYING DARRELL N. COATES AND CARL N.
HERFURTH TO RENDER ACTUARIAL SERVICES
WHEREAS the Charter of the City of Alameda required that this Council
establish on or before July 1, 1938, a retirement pension system for city officers .
and employees, based on sound actuarial principles, and
WHEREAS DARRELL N. COATES AND CARL E. HERFURTH, Consulting Actuaries,
have by letters dated January 31, 1.938, and April 2, 1938, outlined the scope and
extent to the actuarial surveys and services required ip connection with the estab-
lishment of such pension system, and have offered to perform such services for the
sum of 4700.00,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA, that
DARRELL N. COATES and CARL E. HERFURTH be, and they are hereby employed by the City
of Alameda for the purpose of making the surveys and rendering the actuarial services
specified in said letters.
RESOLVED DURTHER that the remuneration to be paid for the performance of
said services shall be the sum of 4700.00. Payment for said services shall be
made upon completion thereof.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly
and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda in
regular meeting assembled on the 5th day of April, 1958, by the following vote, to-wit:
ATES: Councilmen Carrington, Godfrey, Maurer, Morris and President Weichhert (.
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
