REQUESTING BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OE ALAMEDA COUNTY TO
ADOPT REGULATIONS INSURING GREATER SAFETY FOR TRAFEIC
IN POSEY TUBE...—.
=REA:3, it has come to the attention of this Council that numerous
operators of automobiles upon emerging from the Posey Tube at night frequently
neglect to turn on the headlights of their automobiles and travel considerable
diothnces on the streets of the cities of Alameda and Oakland without lights, and
HEREAS, sach practice is exceedingly dangerous to motorists and
pedestrians alike, and
WHEREAS, the present signaling devices appear to be inadequate,
RESOLVED BY TUE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF oPLADEDA that the Board of Super-
visors of the County of Alameda be respectfully requested to make an investigation,
or cause the same to be done by the appropriate officers, to the end that suitable
means be employed whereby more adequate signaling devices, of such a nature as will
attract greeter attention to regulations and give suitable warning to motorists, be
established in the exits to said Posey Tube.
RESOLVED FURTHER that a certified copy of this resolution be forwarded to
the said Board of Supervisors.

and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular
meeting assembled on the 17th day of January, 1930, by the following vote, to wit:.
AYES: Councilmen Carrington, Godfrey, Maurer, Morris and President
Weiehhart, (5).
NOES None. ABSENT: NONE.
