AUTHORIZING PERFORMANCE AND COMPLETION OF A PROJECT
FOR BUILDING AN') INSTALL:VG A KEW CENTRAL FIRE ALARM
SYSTEM IN THE CITY OF ALAMEDA; APPROVING FLANS AND
32ECIFICATION5 THEREFOR AND DIRECTING TEE CITY CLERK
TO ADVERTISE FUR SEALED BIDS.
WHEREAS, the City Manager, in co-operation with and with the assistance of the
Public Utilities Board and the General Manager of the Public Utilities Department of
this City, has prepared a project, together with tans and specifications, for the
building and installation of a modern central fire alarm system for the City of Alameda
and for the furnishing and installing of complete electrical wiring, electrical equip-
ment and interrelated accessories therefor, which plans and specifications, numbered
PW .5-391 were filed in the office of the City Clerk of said City on May 2, 1939; and
WHEREAS, public interest and necessity require that such new central fire
alarm system be constructed and installed;
NOW TaREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL CF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that the
aforesaid plans and specifications, No. Pk 5-391, filed in the office of the City Clerk
of the City of Alameda. May 2, 1939, be, and the same are hereby, approved and adopted.
RESOLVED FURTHER that the performance and completion of the work and the
furnishinE of the materials specified in said project and in said plans and specifications
be, and the same is hereby, authorized.
RESOLVED FURTHER that the Council of the City of Alameda will receive sealed
bids up to the hour of B:15 o'clock p.m. on Tuesday, May 15, 1939, for the furnishing
to the City of Alameda of labor end material required for ths completion of said project
and installation, in accordance with said plans and repecfications and the provisions
herein specified_ Bids must be presented to the City Clerk in the City Hall in Alameda,
California, under sealed cover and plainly marked on the outside "Proposal For Furnish-
ing Fire Alarm System."
Contract, if awarded, will be awarded subject to the provisions of the charter
of said City to the responsible bidder who submits the lowest and best bid. The right
is reserved to rejeot any or all bids.
Said plans and specifications may be had by any prospective bidder on ap-
plication to the said City Clerk at his office hereintefore mentioned, and upon deposit
of •10.00. Said plans and specifications shall be returned in good condition to the
office of said City Clerk not later than 10 days after the date upon which bids are
opened, and upon said return of plans and specifications said deposit will be rerunded.
If plans and specifications are not returned to the office of said City Clerk within
the time above specified, or are returned in a mutilated or damaged condition, the said
deposit shall be retained by the City of Alameda as agreed and liquidated damages for
said mutilation or detention,
The City Clerk is hereby directed to advertise in the Alameda Times-Star
e notice calling for sealed bids in accordance with the provisions of this resolution
and of said plans and specifications.
1, the undersigned, hereby 'certify that the foregoing Resolution
was duly and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda
in regular meeting assembled on the 2nd day of ,May, 1939, by the following vote, to wit:

ABSENT; None.
