AWARDITTG CONTRACT. FOR 1_,EGAL ,A.DVERTISING 10 TIMES-
SOAR PUBLISHING GOlvirANY FOR I-.PISCAL YEAR 1939-1940
00 RIJAC, this Council, rurhuant to its Resolution 00. 23 6 hereto-
fore called and advertised for sealed bids for the publication of all legal
advertising of the City of Alameda for and during the fiscal year ending
TUTIO 30, 1940, and
WHEREAS, in response to sold advertisement the Times-Star Publish-
ing Company, a corporation, submitted its sealed proposal, in writing, for
publishing said legal advertising during said fiscal year in the Alameda
Times-Star, and
WHEREAS, it appears to thin Council, and it is hereby found and
determined, that the Alameda Times-Star is a newspaper of general circulation
published in the City of Alameda for a period of more than one year immedi-
ately preceding the making of such bid; that said newspaper has a bona fide
cadd circulation of more than 1,000 copies; and that said Times-Star Publish-
ing Company is a responsible bidder and the publisher of said Alameda Times-
Star, and
WINEREAS, the bid of said Times Star Publishing Company is the only
bid submitted;
NOW TEEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED DY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA
that the bid of said Times-Star Publishing Company be, and is hereby, accepted,
and the contract for the printing of legal advertising for the fiscal year
ending Jure 30, 1940 be, and is hereby awarded to said bidder.
RESOLVED FURTHER that the Mayor of the City of Alameda is hereby
authorized and directed to execute, and the City Clerk to attest, for and on
behalf of the City of Alameda, a contract with said Times-Star Publishing Com-
pany for the publication of all legal notices of the City during the fiscal
year ending June 30, 1940, which contract stall be in the form and contain the
terms, covenants and agreements set forth in the form cf contract submitted to
this Council at its regular meeting held on July- 5, 1935, and filed with the
Clerk of said City.
RESOLVED FURTHER THAT upon execution of said contract the said Alameda
Times-Star shall be the official newspaper of the City- of Alameda during the
fiscal year endinE :Tune 30, 1)40.
T, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoig Resolution was
duly and regularly introduced. and adopted by the Council of the Oity of Alameda
in regular meeting assembled on the 31-ha day of July, 1939, by the following vote,
to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Carrington, Godfrey, Maurer, Morris and President
Weichhart, (9).
NOES: Nona.
ABSENT: None.
