AUTITORLZING PROJECT OF ADVERTISING AND PUBLICITY

WHEREAS, on May 2, 1939 this Council approved. and adopted 8. project
fox the holding of i golf tournament on the Alameda Municipal Golf Course for
the purpose of increasing the revenues thereof an of advertising the Municipal
Golf Course and the City of Alameda at large by means of a project of adver-
tising whereby the winner of such tournamont, if otherwise qualified, WAS
offered as an inducement the opportunity of repreoehting the City of Alameda
and the Alameda. Municipal. Golf Course at he National Public Link Championship
Tournaaent, to be held. in the City of Baltimore, Maryland, Iuly 24th. to Tuly 29th,
1939, and in consideration of the carrying out for and OD behalf of the City of
Alameda o2 such project of advertising and. publicity as might be determined,
that such participant would receive the cost of transportation and traveling
earpenses to such tournament in a sum of not to exceed C2C0.0C; and
WHEREAS, J. R. Klein has qualified as the winner of such. tournament,
ant of the district qualifying tournament, to represent the City of Alameda at
said national Public Links Championship Tournament;

that sadd 2. R. Klein be, and he is hereby, authorized. to represent the City of
Alameda and the Alameda Municipal Doll: Course at the aforesaid National Public
Links Championshib Tournament, and to carry out a program of advertising and
publicity for the City of Alameda by the distribution of such pamphlets, cir-
culars and other :means of vablicity 9.11.6 advertising as may be direct by the
City Manager, and that upon completion of said project and upon presentation
of claim and statement of expanses incurred in connection therewith that said
T. R. Klein be allowed the actual cost so incurred by hin, not to exceed, how-
eVer, the sum of 1200.00.
Said claim shall be paid upon demand presented and audited as required
by the charter of the City of Alameda.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the sum of C200.00 be, and the same is
hereby, appropriated from the General Fund of the City for the purposes of
publicity and advertising is provided in this resolution and in accordance with
the provisions of Ordanance No. 041 N. S.
