WILEI=, pursuant to Ordinance No. 641, New Series, and by Resolution
Nc. 2516 the Council of the City of Alameda has appropriated the sum of 04500.00
to be used for publicity or advertising for said City for the fiscal year ending
June 30, 1941; and
WHEREAS, the Alameda Chamber of Commerce is willing to undertake the
work of advertising the City of Alameda and to carry on all the necessary pub-
licity for said City during the said fiscal year; and
WHEREAS, the production cf such advertising and publicity renuires
services of a professional and technical nature and special technical skill
and facilities;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY TEE COSUCIL OE THE CITY OF ALAMEDA
that the City of Alameda enter into a contract with the Alameda. Chamber of
Commerce for the carrying on by said Chamber of Commerce of all necessary pub-
licity and advertising on behalf of the City of Alameda for the fiscal year
ending June 30, 1941, provided the obligation of the City for the production
of such advertising and publicity, and the services and work to be performed
by said Advertiser, including reimbursement to Advertiser for its overhead
expense in producing such publicity and advertising, shall not exceed in the
aggregate the sum of 3,200.00.
RESOLVED FURTHER that 0 form of contract to be entered into by and
between the Alameda Chamber of Commerce and the City of Alameda, submitted to
the Council and filed with the City Clerk of the City of Alameda this day, and
the terms, agreements and provisions thereof be, and the same are hereby, ap-
proved,
RESOLVED FURTHER that the Mayor of the City of Alameda is hereby
authorized and directed to execute and the City Clerk to attest, Qh behalf of
the City of Alameda, a contract substantially in the forn and containing the
covenants, agreements and provisions net forth in the aforesaid form of contract,
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was
duly and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda
in regular meeting assembled on the 3rd day of September, 1.940, by the following
vote, to wit,
AYES: Councilmen Carrington, Godfrey, Maurer, :Norris and President
Weichhart, (5).
