ADOPTING SPECIFICATIONS AND PROVISIONS FOR RESURFACING
TENNIS COURTS AT WASHINGTON PARK AND LINCOLN PARK;
CALLING FOR BIDS AND DIRECTING CITY CLERK TO ADVERTISE
SAME.
WHEREAS, public interest and necessity require the following public
work to be done:
The resurfacing of three (3) Tennis Courts at
Washington Park, City of Alameda, California;
The resurfacing of one (1) Tennis Court at
Lincoln Park, City of Alameda, California; and
WHEREAS, the City Engineer has prepared specifications and provioions
for said public work, which specifications and provisions, numbered PW 4-442,
were filed in the office of the City Olerk of said city on May 2, 1944;
NOW, TIRREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AIMEDA
that the aforesaid specifications and provisions, No PW 4-442, filed in the
office of the City Clerk of the City of Alameda on May 2, 1944, be, and the
same are hereby, approved and adopted.
RESOLVED, FURTHER, that the performance and completion of the work
specified in said specifications and provisions be, and the same is hereby,
authorized.
RESOLVED, FURTHER, that the Council of the City of Alameda will re-
ceive sealed bids up to the hour of 8:05 o'clock, p, m., on the 17th day of
May, 1944, for the furnishing to the City of Alameda of all labor, material
and equipment necessary for the said public work in accordance with said speci-
fications and provisions. Bids must he presented to the City Clerk, in the
City Hall, in Alameda, California, under sealed cover and plainly marked on the
outside "Proposal. for Resurfacing Tennis Courts".
Contract, if awarded, will be awarded, subject to Inc provisions of
the charter of said City, to the responsible bidder who submits the lowest and
out bid- The right is reserved to reject any or all bids.
Said specifications and provisions may be had by any prospective
bidder on application to the City Engineer, at his office in the City Hall,
Alameda, California, upon deposit of $10.00. Said specifications and provi-
sions shall be returned in good condition to the office of said City Engineer
not later than 10 days after the date upon which Inc bids are opened, and
upon return of said plans and specifications said deposit will be refunded.
If clans and specifications are not returned to the office of the City Engineer
within the time above specified, or are returned in a mutilated DT damaged con-
dition, the said deposit shall be retained by the City of Alameda as agreed and
liquidated damages for said mutilation or detention.
The City Clerk is hereby directed to advertise, in the Alameda Times-
Star, a notice calling for sealed bids in accordance with Inc provisions of
this resolution and of said specifications and provisions.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foreEoing Resolution was
duly and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda
in regular meeting assembled on the 2nd day of May, 1944, by the following vote,
to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Branscheid, Howe, Jones, Osborn and President
Godfrey, (5).
NOES: None,
ABSENT: None-
