RESOLUTION ND. 2979
AUTHORIZINB EXECUTION OF MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT WITH THE
DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE 30 TEE STATE OF CL10i-0 FOR EX-
PENDITURES FOR CIVILIAN DEFENSE WAR SERVICES PURPOSES.
Vâ– THEREAS, the City of A11ceoa, pursuant to authorization. contained in
Resolution No. 2898 adopted by this Council on July. 27, 1943, filed with the
department of Finance of Inc State of California an application fur financial
aid for civilian defense nurposes, under the provisions of Chapter 80:5, Statutes
of 194,3; and
WHEREAS, the State cf California, through its Department of Finance,
has allocated to the City of Alameda for Civilian Defense purposes a sum not
exceeding 0,428.37, and has submitted to the City a Memorandum of "Agreement and
application stating the terms and conditions under which. payments pursuant to
said allocation will be made to the City; and
WHEREAS, the City Council has read said agreement in full and is fami-
liar with the contents thereof; and
WHEREAS, funds equal to or in excess of the aforesaid amount have
been made and are available for expenditure, for the purpose for which State
aid is requested, from municipal funds of the City of Alameda not otherwise
appropriated or encumbered and from a scarce or sources other than the State
Treasury or any fund of any agency which is a at cf the ExecutiveDepartment
of the state government of California;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AIAMEDA
as follows:
(1) That the said agreement for the expenditure of $1,2,28.37 allocated
to the City of Alameda for civilian defense purposes, pursuant to Chapter 805,
Statutes of 1943, be, and the same is hereby, approved and the City Manager is
hereby authorized and directed to sign the same on behalf of the City;
(2) That the City of Alameda hereby certifies that funds equal to or
In excess of the aforesaid amount have been made and are available for expendi-
ture for the purpose for which State aid is requested, from municipal funds of
the City of Alameda not otherwise appropriated or encumbered and from a source
or sources other than the State Treasury or any fund cf any agency which is a
part or he Executive Department cf the state government of California.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was
duly and. regularly Introduced are adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda
in regular meeting assembled on the 17th day of May, 1944, by the following vote,
to wit:
