ADOPTING SPECIFICATIONS AND PROVISIONS FOR PAINTING
AND DECORATING COUNCIL CHAMBER IN CITY HALL.
WHEREAS, public interest and necessity require painting and decorating
of the Council Chamber in the City Hall in the City of Alameda; and
WHEREAS, the City Engineer has prepared Specifications and Provisions
for said painting and decorating, which Specifications and Provisions, numbered
PW 7-44-3, were filed in the Office of the City Clerk of said City on July 18, 1944;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA
that the aforesaid Specifications and Provisions, No. PW 7-44-3, filed in the
Office of the City Clerk of the City of Alameda on July 18, 1944, be, and the same
are hereby, approved and adopted.
RESOLVED, FURTHER, thatthe performance and completion of the work speci-
fied In said Specifications and Provisions be, and the same is hereby, authorized.
RESOLVED, FURTHER, that the Council of the City of Alameda will receive
sealed bids up to the hour of 8:05 o'clock p. m., on Tuesday, August 1, 1944, for
the furnishing to the City of Alameda of all labor, material and equipment neces-
sary for the painting and decorating of the Council Chamber in the City Hall in
accordance with said Specifications and Provisions. Bids must be presented to the
City Clerk, in the City Hall, in Alameda, California, under sealed cover and plainly
marked on the outside "Proposal for Painting."
Contract, if awarded, will be awarded, subject to the provisions of the
charter of said City, to the responsible bidder who submits the lowest and best
bid. The right is reserved to reject any or all bids.
Said Specifications and Provisions may be had by any prospective bidder
on application to the City Engineer, at his office in the City Hall, Alameda,
California.
The City Clerk is hereby directed to advertise, in the Alameda Times-Star
a notice calling for sealed bids in accordance with the provisions of this resolu-
tion and of said Specifications and Provisions.

1, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was
duly and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda
in regular meeting assembled on the 18th day of July, 1944, by the following
vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Branscheid, Howe, Osborn and President Godfrey, (4).
WOES: None.
ABSENT: Councilman Jones, (1).
