RESOLUTION NO, 3166
RESOLUTION OF IIEMTION - TO ORDER TEE VACATION OF PORTIONS
CY CAIHOUN STREET IN THE CITY CE ALAMEDA.
RESOLVED EY THE COUNCIL OF TEE CITY 07 ALAMEDA that public interest
requires and said Council hereby declares its intention to order the vacation,
closing and abandonment of those certain portions of Calhoun Street in the City
cf Alameda, County of Alameda, State of California described as follows:
rARCEL 2. COMMENCING et the point of intersection of
the Easterly line of Versailles Avenue as said Avenue is
delineated and so designated on that certain Map entitled
"Plat of Leweiling Division, Alameda," and filed October
18, 1887, in the Cffice cf the Recorder of Alameda County,
State of California, in Map Book 19 at Page 17, and the
Northerly line of Calhoun Street, as deeded by Wm. Stuart,
et al to the City of Alameda, by instrument filed October
25, 1887, for record in the Office of the Recorder of Ala-
meda County, State of California, in Liber 342 of Deeds at
Page 2, and running thence Southeasterly along said line of
Calhoun Street 10.38 feet, more or less, to the point of
intersection with the Northerly line of Calhoun Street (50
feet in width) as said street now exists; said point of
intersection is the true point of beginning for the Parcel
herein described; thence continuing Southeasterly along
said Northerly line of Calhoun Street es deeded to the City
of Alameda by aforementioned deed (Mi. Stuart, et al, to the
City of Alameda) 50,56 feet, more or less, to the Easterly
line of a Parcel deeded to Charles Leonard Bausch, recorded
October 20, 1933, lo the Office of the aforementioned Re-
corder in Volume 2988 at Page 241; thence Southwesterly
along said. Parcel line 3.65 feet,, more or less, to e point
in the Northerly line of Calhoun Street (as said Street now
exists): thence Northwesterly along said line 50.37 feet,
more or less, to the point of beginning;
PARCEL 3. COMTUNCTNG at the point of intersection of
the Easterly line of Versailles Avenue, as said Avenue is
delineated and so designated on that certain Map entitled
"Plat of Levelling Division, Alameda," and filed October 18,
1887, in the Office of the Recorder uf Alameda County, State
of California, in Map Book 19, at Page 17, and the Northerly
line of Calhoun Street as deeded by Wm. Stuart, et al, to the
City of Alameda by instrument filed October 25, 1887, for
record in the Office of the Recorder of Alameda County, State
of California, in Liber 342 of reeds et Page 2, and running
thence Southeasterly along said line of Calhoun Street 60,94
feet to the point of intersection with the Westerly line of
a parcel owned by Benjamin and Edna S. Crowe, deed recorded
February 25, 1935, in the Office of aforesaid County Recorder
in Volume 3155 at Page 181, and said point being the true
point of beginning of the parcel hereinafter described; thence
continuing Southeasterly along said line of Calhoun Street
60.94 feet to the Easterly line of aforesaid Parcel; thence
Southwesterly along said Easterly line 8.05 feet, more or
less, to a point in the Northerly line of Calhoun Street (50
feet in width) as said Street now exists; thence Northwesterly
along said line of Calhoun Street 60.8 feet, more or less,
to the point cf intersection with the Westerly line of afore-
said Parcel extended Southwesterl y; thence Northeasterly along
said extension 3.65 feet, more or less, to the point of begin-
ning.;
PARCEL 5. BEGINNING at a point in the Northerly line of
Calhoun Street 150 feet Northwesterly from the Westerly line
of mound Street, as said streets are delineated and so desig-
nated an that certain Map entitled "Map of the Town of Alameda
and Adjacent Lands," filed September 12, 1867, in the office
of the Recorder of Alameda County, State of California, in Map
Book 5, at Page 16; and running thence North 48* 42' West along
said line of Calhoun Street 59.08 feet; thence South 41* 18' West
18.97 feet to a point in. the Northerly line of Calhoun Street
(50 feet in width) as said Street now exists; thence along said
line of Calhoun Street South 52* 33, East 59.21 feet; thence
North 41* 18' East 14,99 feet to the point of beginning;
PARCEL 6. BEGINNING at e point in the Northerly line of
Calhoun. Street 100 feet Northwesterly from the Westerly line
of Mound Street, es said Streets are delineated and so designated
on that certain map entitled "Met cf the Town of Alameda and Ad-
jacent Lands" and filed September 12, 1867, in the Office of the
Recorder of Alameda County, State of California, in Map Book 5,
at Page 16, and running thence along said line of Calhoun Street
North 48* 42' West 50 feet; thence South 41* 18' West 14.99 feet
to a point in the Northerly line of Calhoun Street (50 feet in
width) as said street now exists; thence South 52) 33' East along
said line of Calhoun Street 50.11 feet; thence North 41* 18' East
11,63 feet to the point of beginning;
PARCEL 7. BEGINNING at the point of -Intersection of the
Westerly line of Mound Street and the Northerly line of Calhoun
Street, as said streets are delineated and so designated on that
certain Map entitled "Yap of She Town of Alameda and Adjacent
Lands" and filed September 12, 1867, in the Office of the Re-
corder of Alameda County, State of California, in Map hook 5 at
Page 16, and running thence North 48* 421 West along said line
of Calhoun Street 100 feet; thence South. 41* 18' 'West 11.63 feet
to a point in the Northerly line of Calhoun Street (50 feet in
width) as said Street now exists; thence along said line of Cal-
houn Street South 52* 33' East 100.22 feet; thence North 41* 18'
Last 4.90 feet to the point of beginning.
RESOLVED, FURTHER, that the portions of said street to be vacated and
abandoned and the details of said vacation are more particularly shown upon a map
bearing the legend! "Plat of North Line of Calhoun St. From Mount St. to Ver-
sailles Ave.," which map is hereby approved for the purpose of this proceeding
and is hereby ordered filed in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Alameda
and marked "Piled June 26, 1945," and which map is hereby referred to for particu-
lars as to the proposed vacation.
RESOLVED, FURTHER, that the 17tt day of July, 1945, at 8:00 o'clock P.M.
of said day, in the COUNCIL CHAMBERS in the CITY BALL, at the northwest corner of
Santa Clara Avenue and Oak Street, Alameda, California, be, and the same is hereby,
fixed as the time and place for hearing by the Council of said City of all persons
interested in or objecting to the proposed vacation.
RESOLVED, FURTHER, that the City Clerk of the City of Alameda is hereby
directed to cause this resolution to be published, in the manner prescribed by law
for the publishing of ordinances of the City. of Alameda, ia the Alameda Times-Star,
a daily newspaper of general. circulation published and circulated in said City and
the official newspaper thereof.
RESOLVED, FURTHER, that the City Clerk of the City of Alameda is hereby
directed to post, or cause to be posted, conspicuously along the line of the street
proposed to be vacated, notices of such. vacation, At the form and manner required
by the legislative act hereinafter mentioned.
RESOLVED, FURTHER, that in the herein proposed vacation of said street
or parts of street aforementioned, the council of the City of Alameda hereby elects
to proceed under and in pursuance of the provisions of the Street Vacation Act of
2941. of the State of California (Chatter 250, Statutes of 1941), as amended.

in adjourned regular meeting assembled on the 26th day of June, 1945, by the
