AUT7ORIMG CITY MANAGER TO MAKE APPLICATION TO STATE
DIRECTOR OF FINANCE ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA
FOR STATE ASSISTANCE IN DEFRAYING CCST OF PLANS FOR
LON'FELLOW PARK IMPROVEMENTS. (PROJECT NO. 47-12).
WHEREAS, the state of California, under Chapter 47, Statutes of 1944,
(4th Extra session) has appropriated funds for allotment by the Director of Finance
to provide financial assistance to Local Agencies defined therein as counties,
cities or cities and counties for the purpose of defraying not to exceed one-half
the cost of preparing engineering field surveys, engineering or architectural de-
signs, and working and detailed drawings and specifications (hereinafter called
"Plans") required for postwar public works projects described as "specific proj-
ects" in said Act; and
WHEREAS, the City of Alameda desires to apply to the Director of Finance
and/or the Post War Public Works Review Board, as the case may be, for an allotment
of the State's share of the estimated cost of preparing the completed plans here-
inafter mentioned, and there has been prepared and presented to this Legislative
Body for consideration an application for such purpose; and
WHEREAS, said City has provided, or will make available upon approval of
the aforementioned application, sufficient funds to prepare the completed plans
herein mentioned;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that said City submit the aforesaid ap-
plication to the Director of Finance and/or the post War Public Works Review Board,
as the case may be, requesting allotment of Four Hundred Sixty-five ($465.) Dollars,
being not more than one-half the cost of preparing said completed plans, or for
such amount as may be approved by the Director of Finance and/or the Post War Pub-
lic Works Review Board, (said allotment to be used for the purpose of defraying the
cost of preparing said completed plans required) for a specific project to be under-
taken by said City and described as Project No. 47-12 -- Longfellow Park Imbrovements;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the estimated cost of preparing such plans is
Nine Hundred Thirty ($930.) Dollars, and that said City has made provision for pay-
ing one-half or more of the cost of preparing such plans;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that for the purposes of this application, Don
C. McMillan, City Manager of the City of Alameda, be, and he hereby is, designated
as the authorized agent of said City and is hereby authorized and directed to sign
the above mentioned application on behalf of said City and submit the same to the
Director of Finance and/or the Post War Public Works Review Board together with a
certified statement of the estimated cost of preparing such plans and such ether
information as may be required; and said authorized agent is further authorized
and directed, as the representative of said City, to conduct all negotiations and
conclude all arrangements, including submission to the Director of Finance of ap-
plications for reimbursement, which may be necessary to secure reimbursement for
the State's share of the expenditure made in preparing aaid completed plans.

duly and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda
in regular meeting assembled on the 2nd day of October, 1945, . by the following
vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Howe, Jones, Osborn, Sweeney and President
Branscheid, (5).
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
