CONSENT TO SUBLEASE TO UNITED STATES OF AMERICA BY
KATE G. PEDERSEN AND LAURA PEDERSEN, SUCCESSORS IN
INTEREST OF LARS A.PEDERSEN, DECEASED, OF CERTAIN
REAL PROPERTY HELD UNDER LEASE AND RENEWAL LEASE
BETWEEN TEE CITY OF ALAMEDA ANT LARS A. PEDERSEN.
WHEREAS, on the 31st day of May, 1920, a lease of certain. real property
belonging to the City of Alameda, desoribed as follows:
parcel A.
Beginning at Station No. 122 on the Peralta Grant Line as said
Station and Line are delineated and so designated upon that certain
map entitled "map of Alameda Marsh Land as partitioned among the
owners thereof in the Suit numbered 8923 and entitled Pacific im-
provement Company, Plaintiff, vs. James A. Waymire et al, Defend-
ants, Superior Court of Alameda County, State of California," and
filed in the office of the Recorder of said County of Alameda on
July 30, 1900, and running thence N 83* 401 W 491.21 feet to a
point; thence N 28* 39' E 218.51 feet more or less to o point on
the United States Bulkhead Line; thence along said Bulkhead Line
S 81* 471 23" E 952.09 feet to point No. 70; thence S 57* 231 E
28.18 feet to a point; thence S 28* 391 W 8.64 feet to a point;
thence N 56* 101 W 106.03 feet to a point; thence S 80* 351 W
458.29 feet more or less to the point of beginning.
Containing 3.43 Acres of land more or less.

Beginning at Station No. 122 on the Pearlta Grunt Line as said
Station and Line are delineated and so designated upon that certain
map entitled "Map of Alameda Marsh Land as partitioned among the
owners thereof in the Suit numbered 8923 and entitled Pacific Im-
provement Company, Plaintiff, vs. James A. Waymire, et al, Defend-
ants, Superior Court of Alameda County, State of California," and
filed in the office of the Recorder of said County of Alameda on
July 30, 1900, and running thence N 83* 401 W 490.21 feet to a
point; thence Wo. 28* 39, E 218.51 feet to a point on the United
States Bulkhead Line, said point to be known as the point of begin-
ning and running thence N 28* 391 12 289.75 feet more or less to a
point on the United States Pierhead Line; thence along said. Pier-
head Line S 67* 53, 50" E 410.19 feet to a point; thence S. 73*
02, 16" E 479.88 feet to a point; thence S 57* 231 El 42.83 feet
to a point; thence S 28* 391 W 100.24 feet to a point; thence N
57* W 28.18 feet to a point; thence N 81* 47' 23" W 952.09 feet
more or less to the above described point of beginning.
Containing 3.86 Acres of land more or less,
was entered into between the city of Alameda and Lars A. Pedersen; and
WHEREAS, on March 14, 1921, a renewal of said lease was entered into
between said City of Alameda and said Lars A. Pedersen; and
WHEREAS, said Lars A. Pedersen subsequently died and Kate G. Pedersen
was duly appointed the executrix of his estate; and
WHEREAS, on march 24, 1942, the United States of America instituted
condemnation proceedings in eminent domain against certain portions of the real
property described in said lease, which said proceeding was filed in the District
Court of the United States, in and for the Northern District of California, Sou-
thern Division, No. 22133-W, entitled "United States of America, Plaintiff, vs.
7.66 Acres of land, more or less, etc., et al, Defendants"; and
WHEREAS, on the 22nd day of May, 1944, pursuant to the provisions of
Ordinance No, 849 New Series, adopted and passed by the Council of the City of
Alameda, on the lbth day of April, 1944, effective May 19, 1944, the City of
Alameda entered into an Amendment of Leases with Kate G. Pedersen and. Laura
Pedersen, successors in interest of Lars A. Pedersen, deceased, covering the
remainder of the real property still subject to said lease and renewal lease; and
WHEREAS, paragraph Fourth of the lease provides as follows;
"Fourth: The said Lessee, party of the second part, may assign
this lease and also sublet the said premises hereby leased or
any part thereof for a term which shall not extend beyond the
term hereby created and the renewal thereof, if this lease be

renewed by the Lessee as herein provided; provided that
neither the assignee of this lease nor any subtenant of
any part of said premises shall use the same for any pur-
post or uses different from the purposes and uses for
which said Lessee may use said premises, as 'herein stated;" and.
WHEREAS, said Kate G. Pedersen and Laura Pedersen, as successors in
interest of said Lars A. Pedersen, deceased, now desire to sublet said lease and
renewal lease to the United States Government and have requested the City of Ala-
meda to consent to said sublease,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA
that said City of Alameda does hereby consent to the sublease of that certain
lease dated May 31, 1920, by and between the City of Alameda, a municipal corpora-
tion, and Lars A. Pedersen, therein called the Lessee, and also the sublease of
that certain renewal of lease dated March 14, 1921, by and between the City of
Alameda, a municipal corporation, and Lars A. Pedersen, therein called the Lessee,
to the United States of America; and.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor of the City of Alameda be, and he
is hereby, authorized and empowered to execute, and the City Clerk to attest,
the consent of the City of Alameda in and to said sublease.

1, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was
duly and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda
in regular meeting assembled on the 20th day of November, 1945, by the following
vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Howe, Jones, Osborn, Sweeney and President
Eranscheid, (5).
NOES: None.
ABSENT: None.
