CAILTNG FOR BIDS FOR LEGAL ADVERTISING FOR TBE CITY OF
ALA FOR TEE FISCAL YEAR 1946-1947.
RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF AIAMELA that said Council will
receive sealed bids up to the hour of 8:05 P. Y. an Tuesday, June 4, 1948, . for
the publication cf all legal advertising of said City during the fiscal year
ending June 30, 1947.
Such advertising must be published in a newspaper of general circula-
tion published in the City of Alameda for a period or not less than one year
immediately preceding the making of such bid and. havinE a. bona fide paid circula-
tion of at least 2,500 copies.
Said advertising shall be in accordance with the following specifications:
(1) All advertisements shall be set in solid six-point (nonpareil)
type, in columns of 24 ems to the line and 144 ems to the square, except that
by request of the officer authorizing the same such advertisement may be set in
such large type and with such spacing between lines as such officer may direct;
(2) Titles and sub-headings shall be set in six-point capitals
(nonpareil), black-face type, or in such larger type as may be specified by
the officer authorizing the advertisement.
Bidders shall state in their proposals for doing said legal advertis-
ing the price per square of 144 ems, set in solid six-point (nonpareil.) tyne,
in columns of 24 ems to the line, according to the following schedule:
A price per square for the 1st insertion;
A price per square for the 2nd insertion;
A price per square for the 3rd and for each subsequent insertion,
Bids must be presented to the City Clerk, in the City Hall, Alameda,
California, under sealed cover and plainly marked on the outside "Proposal. for
Legal Advertising."
Contract for such legal advertising, if awarded, will be awarded,
subject to the provisions of the Charter of said City, to the responsible bidder
who submits the lowest and best bid. The right is reserved to reject any or all
bids.
The newspaper published by the bidder to whom such contract is awarded
shall be known, for the term of such. contract, as the ',Official Newspaner” of the
City for legal advertiaing.
The City Clerk is hereby directed to advertise, in the Alameda Times-
Star, a notice calling for sealed bids in accordance with the provisions of this
resolution.

1, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was
duly and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda
in regular meeting assembled on the 21st day of May, 1946, by the following vote,
to wit.:
AYES: Councilmen Howe, Jones, Osborn, Sweeney and President
Branscheid, (5).
NOES: None, ABSENT: None.
