RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OE TEE CITY OF ALAMEDA
ENDORSING AND URGING PASSAGE OF CERTAIN AMENDMENTS
TO THE SAN FRANCISCO BAY. AREA RAPID TRANSIT DISTRICT
ACT TO THE END THAT 1,:Ayo0s, COUNCILMEN AND SUPER-
VISORS MAY SERAIE ON THE BOARD OF SUCH DDSTRIOT.
WHEREAS, it was the original intent of the San Francisco Bay Area Rapid
Transit District Act that Mayors, Councilmen and Supervisors of the Bay Area serve
upon the District Board; and
WHEREAS, this intent was nullified on the grounds of incompatibility of
public service; and
WHEREAS, an amendment has been offered tc said Act which will allow said
Mayors, Councilmen and Supervisors to serve upon the District Board;
NO2 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED flY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that
the Legislature of the State of California is hereby urged and requested to enact
those amendments to tha San Francisco Say Area Transit District Act to the end that
Mayors, Councilmen and Supervisors may serve on tho Board of such District and that
the holding of both offices be compatible public service.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk of the City of Alameda is
hereby directed to send cortified copies of this resolution to all pertinent parties.

lar meeting assembled on the leth day of March, 1950, by the following voids, to wit:
