EXPENDING TO JOSEPH R. KNOWLAND THANKS AND APPRECIATION
OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA FOR TFE MORE THAN 60 YEARS OF
PUBLIC SERVICE.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that, for and on
behalf of the people of this City, it does hereby express to JOSEPH R. KNOWLAND its
thanks and appreciation for the more than 60 years of outstanding public service
rendered to his community and the State cf
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Council, and the citizens of this City,
hereby commend Joseph R. Knowland, born in the City of Alameda on August 5, 1873,
for his long, effective and selfless contribution to his native State, as a member
of the Park Commission for more than 20 years, as a member of the State Legislature,
and as a Representative to the United States Congress, and further, for his con-
tinued willingness to serve the public interest without benefit to himself.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a certified copy of this resolution be trans-
mitted to Joseph R. Knowland and that it be spread. in full upon the minutes of this
meeting.

and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda in regu-
