RESOLUTION GT THL COHNITIE CF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA
IN COMMENDATION OF DOUGLAS D. STAFFORD, Ya Fea
HIsjo-IlmaTcas SERVICE TO THE CITY GT ALAMEDA
'MHEREAS, Dr. Douglas D. Stafford has found it necessary to tender his
resignation as a member of the Library Board of the City of Alameda; and
WHEREAS: Dr. Stafford was first appointed to membership on this Board by
Resolution No. 5057, adopted February 23, 1955, and was subsequently re-appointed
by Resolution No. 5808 adopted June 24, 1958; and
WHEBERS, Dr. Stafford has served diligently in this capacity enP has
given unstintingly of his time end knowledge tiewerd the effrt orter4tion of the
Public Library; and
WHEREA8, Dr. Stafford b alto been greatly esteemed and beloved as a
humanitarian, and his untiring efforts in the field of medicine on behalf of the
citizens of this community have been invaluable.
NOW, THEREBOETS, t IT RESOLVED that 11 recognition cT the great service
so generously given by Dr. Stafford and in honor of his outstanding contrihuticn
Lo the citizens of Alameda, tre City Council hereby extends to Dr. Douglas D. Stafford
its wholehearted gratitude end commendation for his keen civic interest and prdise
oorthy achievements.
BE iT FERTHEM REEOTYED that a copy of this resolution be transmitted to
Dr. Stafford as e token of the sincere affection and admlration he so richly
deserves.
