RESOLUTION OF COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA CREATING THE
CITIZENS ADVISORY COMMITTEE FOR COMNUNITY IMPROVEMENT AND
PRESCRIBING THE POWERS AND DUTIES,THERFOF,g,

SECTION 2. The said Citizens Advisory Committee shall.. consist of fAfteen (15) members,
each of mitorm shall be residents of the. City of Alameda, nomi.nated by the Mayor of the City of
Alameda and approved by the Council of the City of Plameda. Any macsnoy ocrorring on said commitree
shall be filled by appointment in the same manner.
SECTION al. organizational chairman of said Citizens Advisory Cm:mit:tee shall
be selected by the Mayor of the City oE Alameda, whn shell serve only until such time as the commitmoo
selects its own officers, vho shall conaist of at least a einairman, vice chairman and secretary.
SECTICN 4. A subcummittee Of the Cifizenn Advisory Committee on. minority group housing
problems, consisting 3 five (5) members, shall be nominated by the Mayor of the City of Alameda and
approved by the Council of the City of Alameda. Any suEsequent vacancy occurring on. such subcommit-
tee shall be filled by appointment by the CAtisens Advisory Committee from its membership upon nomina-
tion. of the chain:an of said committee.
SECTION 5. Each member of said committee shall serve for a period of oae (I) year
from the date of his appointment and until his successor is appointed and qualified. Any :retches may
be removed, or the entire committee dissolved, at the sole discretion.. of the. Council, by three (5)
votes of said Council.
SECTICV 6, The Citizens Advisory Commsittee for Community Improvement shall have the
powom and it shall. be. its duty to:
(a) Study, evaluate and advise. the Council of the ti ty of Alameda in specific mattero
relating to the Waprovement of the City of Alameda. in terms of redevelopment,
urban renewal, minordty housing needs and other related subjectm, said studies
and evaluations to be. mada oe the committee's own Initiative or the (1 1)1,
direction.
3.51 Adwpt rules and regulations for the proper administration of the affairs of the
Citizens Advisory Committee; provided, however, the committee shall meet
regularly at least once each month and shall submit to the Council an annual
report relating to previous and projected activities.
