AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF A CONTRACT WITH THE FIRM OF COATES,
HERFURTH AND ENGLAND, CONSULTING ACTUARIES, FOR REQUIRED
QUADRENNIAL ACTUARIAL REVIEW OF STATE EMPLOYEES RETIREMENT
SYSTEM.
WHEREAS, Section 20127 of the State Employees' Retirement Law requires an actuarial investi-
gation and revaluation of the assets and liabilities nf the State Employees' Retirement System at
least every four (4) years in order to determine whether any change should he made in the contribu-
tions of the State and contracting agencies: and
WHEREAS, paragraph 12(d) of that certain contract dated January I, 1957, between the City
of Alameda and the Board of Administration, California State Employees' Retirement System provides
that the City shall bear its proportionate share of costs for such periodical investigation and
revaluation; and
WHEREAS, a form of agreement between the City of Alameda and the firm of Coates, Herfurth
and England, Consulting Actuaries, covering the employment of said firm to perform the aforesaid
investigation and valuation has been submitted, and the Council Is aware of the contents thereof,
said copy of contract. being filed with the City Clerk and marked "Filed Jan. 2, 1963";
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED 3Y THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that the Mayor of the
City of Alameda is hereby authorized and directed to execute, on behalf of the. City of Alameda, a
contract substantially in the form submitted, and the City Clerk is directed to attest to same.
