CALLING FOR BIDS FOR LEGAL ADVERTISING FOR THE CITY OF ALAMEDA
FOR THE FISCAL YEAR t963- 964.
RESOLVED BY ME 2315011 OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that said Council will receive sealed bids
up to the hour of 10:00 a. m. on IJEDNESDAY, MAY 22, 1953, for the publication cf all legal advertis-
ing of said City during the fiscal year ending June 30, 1964.
Such advertising must be published IR a newspaper of general circulation published in
the City of Alameda for a period of not less than one year immediately preceding the making of such
bid and having a bona fide paid circulation of at least 2,500 copies.
Said advertising shall be in accordance with the following specifications:
(I) All advertisements shall be set in solid six-point (nonpareil) type, in columns
of 24 ems to the line and 234 ems to the square, except that by request of the officer authoriz-
ing the same such advertisement may be set in such larger type and with such spacing between
lines as such officer may direct;
(2) Titles and sub-headings shall be set in six-point capitals (nonpareil), black-
face ty( e, or in such larger type as may be specified by the officer authorizing the advertisement.
Bidders shall state in their proposals for doing said legal advertising the price per
square of 234 ems, set in solid six-point (nonpareil) type, in columns of 24 ems to the line,
according to the following schedule:
A price per square for the 1st insertion;
A. price per square for the 2nd insertion;
A price per square for the 3rd and for each subsequent insertion,.
Bids must be presented to the City Clerk, in the City Hall, Alameda, California, under
sealed cover and plainly marked on the outside, "Proposal for Legal Advertising Fiscal Year
1963-1964".
Contract for such legal advertising, if awarded, w;11 be awarded subject to the provisions
of the Charter of said City, to the responaible bidder who submits the lowest and best bid. The
right is reserved to reject any or all bids.
The newspaper published by the bidder to whom such contract is awarded shall be 1. 1.1333
for the term of such contract, as the "Official Newspaper" of the City for legal advertising.
The City Clerk is hereby directed to advertise, in the Alameda Times-Star, a notice call.-
!, for sealed bids in accordance with the provisions of this resolution.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly
introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the
7th day of May, 1963, by the following vote, to wit;

Councilmen Freeman, La Croix, Jr., McCall, Rose and President Godfrey, (5).
