Resolution 06736OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO, 6736 ‘1,1,12„rs. URO50 SELECTION OF CAMP PARKS A3 THE srrE FOR ATOMIC ENERGY COMMISSION ACCELERATOR INSTALLATION. WHEREAS, the Atomic Energy Commission is considering Camp Parks in the Livermore-Amador galley as the site for a high-energy proton accelerator; and WHEREAS, Camp Parks provides a large tract of approximately 5,000 acres already in govern- ment ounership, and the area offers a complex of scientific enterprise now particularly directed to nuclear research, and the suggested site is near the University of California, Stanford University, and other outstanding educationat institutions: and WHEREAS, alJ of these advantages provide the Atomic Energy Commission with a site unmatched in any other part of the United States, NOW, THEREFORE, BE iT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Alameda urges the Atomio Energy Commission to select the Camp Parks site 83 the location for its proton accelerator. t, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on thu 19th day of January, 1965, by the following vote, to wit: AYES: Councilmen Freeman, La Croix., Jr., McCall, Rose and President Godfrey, (5).
