RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF' ALAMEDA. IN MEMORIAM
TO CBARLESPB. GULLY, RETIRED PATROLMAN OF ALAMEDA POLICE
DEPARTMENT.
WITH GREAT' SADNESS, the Council of: the City 0 Alameda 00 '1 the death of one of Its
former, loyal employees, CRARLES B. MIYP, Retired Patrolman of the Alanleda Police Department.
WPEREAS, Officer Gully had commenced 111:: employment ..Lith the City of Alpp.neda on Decem-
ber 1, 1927, as a Patrolman in the Alameda Police Department and had been most dependable and
gent in the performanpe of ',is dutjes; and
WHEREAS, OffLeer Cully hod bean instrumental ii . establishing the 'Bicycle Court' and hnd
also beL.m In charge of the Junior Traffic Squad when it was originated and had. shown particular
interebt prelroting programs for the benefit of the youth. of the City. Further, Officer Cully
had ever been affable and obliOng with his brother Officers and other City employees and had tPlus
(0 '3 a spirit of friendship among. all of 4is „lssocintes; and
WEEREAS, Officer GulLy had been forced to retire due to poor health, on February 20-,
1951.
NOW, TPEREFOPE, BE tT RESOLVED., that the CouyipLI of the Clty of Alameda does hereby
recognize with appreciation. the valuable work done by Officer Gully during his twenty-four years
of service and the cooperntive attitude he exemplifLed, and does also express its sense of loss
in the passing of this gentleman.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that. this resolution be sprea6 in full upon the minutes of this

sincere condolence i their bereavement,
