AUTHORIZING ACQUISITFON BY PURCHASE OF CERTAIN REAL PROPERTY
FOR STREET PURPOSES (INTERSECTION OF MARKET STREET WI1H OTIS

BE IT 4) 9)1 BY THE COUNCTL OF THE CITY OF 5, "9') that the City of Alameda purchase,
for the sum of Eight Hundred Sixty-six and no/100 ($866.00) Dollarm, from Thomas P. Wood, owner,
that certain real property situated in the City of Alameda, County of Alameda, State of CalTforura,
more particularly described as follows:
BEGINNING at o point on the northwesterly line of Market Street, distant along said line
South 47R 18' 20" West 155.87 feet from the southwesterly line of Calhoun Street as
said streets are shown on the 'Map of Town of Alameda and Adjacent Lands", filed at
page 16, Book 5 of Maps, Official Records of Alameda County, said point having the
coordinates of y H 460,179.18 feet and x 1;498,435.90 feet based on the California
Coordlnate System, Zone IIIM as are all hearings and distances in this description;
THENCE along said northwesterly line South 429 IS' 20" West 39.36 feet to the northeasterly
line of that parcel of land described in the deed from John F. Ward, et al. to tMe
State of California. recorded July 13, 1951, at page 565. Book 6486, Official Records
of Alameda CounFy;
THENCE' along said northeasterly line North 45. 28 39' West 40.00 feet to a polor of cusp
with a non-tangent curve concave to the north having a radius of 170.00 feet (a radial
line of said curve to said point of cusp :scaring South 8° 12' 34'' West):
THENCE easterly along said curve 55.26 fhtt to the BEGINNING,
which property is required for public street purposes, said purchase to be on the following terms
and conditions;
(a) That good and merchantable title in fee simple in said real property be conveyed to
the City of Alameda, a municipal corporation, free and clear of all. objections, reservations, liens
and ereemlaranees.
0)) That title. of said real property be evidenced by a policy of title insurance, to be
issued by Title insurance and Trust Company under its Escrow N, . OK-106673, A-18, 6X1, X2), insur-
ing title in the City, as provided herelnabove.
(c) That upon deposit with said title company for delivery to the City of a good and
sufficienM deed of grant, conveying in fee said property to said City, and conditioned upon the
issuance of a title insurance policy, as aforesaid, to be approved by the City Attorney, a warrant
of the City be drawn for the sum of ED6HT HUNDRED SIXTY-SIK and NO6100 ($866.00) DOLLARS, payable
to the order of said Title Insurance and Trust Comparty, as escrow holder, for the purpose of effect-
ing consummation of said acquisition—
(0 That the sum of Eight Hundred Sixty-six and '1 14 ($866.00) Dollars, together with
the sum of Fifty-two and no/I00 (852.00) Dollars as cost of title insurance, and any further sum
for incidental expenses relating to said purchase; be appropriated from the Special Gas Tax Street
Improvement FMnd (Account 222.1) to pay the purchase price of said property, cost of said title
insurance policy, and incidental expenses.
I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly
introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the
19th day of April, 1966. by the following vote, to wit:
