BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Alameda, Alameda County, California, that
it is the intention of said City Council to order the following imprrvemeots to be made in the City
of Alameda, Alameda County, California, to wit:
The construction of a sanitary sewer in Fifth Street and the extension thereof from
approximately 778 feet North of Buena Vista Avenue to Central Avenue; the construe-
tion of sanitary sewers in Central Avenue from Fifth Street easterly to McKay
Avenue and from Fifth Street westerly approximately 618 feet; and the construction
of ail. necessary appurtenanhes for the above described setre,
8E IT RESOLVED that said improvements to be constructed in the streets, avenues, lanes,
courts, roads, places andFor public ways hereinabove described, will he of the dimensions, materials,
and in the particular locations, as set forth and shown on the plans and specifications and detailed
drawangs hereinafter referred to; together with the construction of all appurPenances thereto, includ-
ng necessary fittings, tronchings, grading and regrading, excavation and fill, removal of obstruc-
tions, connections to existing services, back filling, reconstruction of existing ground surface as
required to conditions existing prior to coavencement of construction, all tn the manner, of the
aterials, and to the dimensions and to the grades, and in the particular locations as the same will
be more fully shown on the plans and specifications and detailed drawings hereinafter referred to;

The attention of all persons is directed to the fact that not all of said classes of work

referred to, which said plans and specifications shall govern as to all details with relation to
the same.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that tee City Council of the City of Alameda hereby makes the
expeasew and costs of said improvements chargeable upon a district, which said district said City
Council hereby declares the district benefited by the improvements herein described; said djstrict
shall include that territory in the City of Alameda, Alameda County, California, which is shown on
that certain map on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Alameda, and whith is
entitled and described "Hap Showing Proposed Boundaries of District. to be Assessed for Improvements
Assessment DistrAct 66-1, City of Alameda, Alameda County, California," and which said map indi-
cates by n boundary line the extent of the territory included in the proposed distrAct nnA covers
all details as to the extent of the area to be asseesed; said smp is, by this reference, ircorporated
herein and made a part hereof.
Excepting from the area shown and delineated on said map hersinabove re:farmed to, the area

of the Streetw and Highways Code, being: a part of the Municipal. Improvement Act of 1913, the matter
of the improvemerts herein. referred to is hereby referred to the City Ensineer of the City of Alamwda,
and the. person having charge and control of the improvements described in this resolution, Said City
Engineer is hereby direhted to make and file heth the City Clerk of the City of Alamedw a report in.
writing containing the follcsinpi
a. Flans and. spealficwtions of the proposed improvemenh„ if the improvement is not
already installed;
b. A general deseription of the works or appliances already installed and any other
property necessary or convenient for the operation. cf the improvement, if the works,
appliances or property are to be constructed as part of the improvement;
ce An estinmte of the cost of the improvements and of the cost of lands, rights-of-way,
easementa and incidental expenses in connection with the imprevemente;
d. A diagram showing the assessment district and the boundaries and dimensions of the
subdivisions of land within the district as they existee at the time of the passage
of the Resolution of Intention. Each subdivision shall be. givew a separate number

A proposed assessment of the total amount of the co1 t. and expenses of the proposed
improvements upon the several subdivisions of land in the district in proportion to
the estimated beneeits to be received by each subdivision, respectively, from the
improvements.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that if any surplus remains in the improvement 7Mnd after the com-
pletion of the improvement and the payment of ail claims from the improvement Fund, said surplus shall
be transferred to the general fund of the City if it does not exceed the lesser of $1,000.00 or Five
per cent (57.1 of the total amount expended from the Improvement Fund; otherwise said surolme shall
be applied as a credit upon the assessment in the manner provided in Section 10) 27.1 of the Streets
end Highways Code,
