ADTHORIZTNG ACCEPTANCE OF SETTLEMENT OFFER BY SANGAMO ELECTRIC
COMPANY AND AUTHORI2ING CITY ATTORNEY TO COMPROMISE LITIGATION.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that, good cause appearing, an offer
of settlement in the amount of $4,830.00 by Sangamo Electric Company In an action pending in the Dis-
rric Court of the United States for the Northern District of California, Southern DIvisinn, entitled,
"City of Alameda, a municipal corporation, plaintiff, against General Electric Company, and others,
defendants.," And numbered Civil Accion No 40500 ln the files therein, be And the same hereby is
accepted on behalf of the City; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, in accordance with Sections 8-2 and 5-5 of the Charter of the
City of Alameda, the City ALLorney and Joseph I. Alioto, Esq., special attorney in said litigation,
are. and each is, hereby authorized and empowered to receive said money on behalf of the City and to
execute and deliver all pleadings, agreements, covenants or documents, and to do all things necessary
to effect the compromise and. settlement herein authorized and accepted,
the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly And regularly
introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 6th
day of December, 1966, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Bartley, La Croix, Jr., McCall, Rose and President Godfrey, (5).
