SCHEEULINS PUBLIC NEARING ON ORDINANCE ADOPTING,
BY REFERENCE, A FIRE PRE,,CENTION COTE, AND DIREMTING
THAT CITY CLERK GIVE NOTICE THEREOF .0. PUBLICATION
BE IT REMOIVED BY TME COUNCIL OF THE CITY OP ALAMEDA that a public hearing on
an ordinance adopting by reference a Fire Prevention Coda is hereby scheduled for T:30
p.m. on Tuesday, April 1; 1969, before this City Co' ncil. at its regmlar meeting to be
held.. at said time in the Council ChamEers located in City Hall, Oak and Santo Clara,
Streets, Alameda, California.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk shall give notice of said hearing
by causing a copy of this resolution to be published in the Alameda Times-Ster, a
newspaper of general circhlation, once a week:, for two successive weekr, as follows:
first publication, March 11, 1969; second publication, March 18, 1.969.
BE 1." FURTHER RESOLVED that said ordinance will adopt, by reference, a8 the
primary code, that certain code known as the Fire Prevention Coda, 01 10 the 1965 edition
of said Code, recommended and copyrighted by' the American Insuranno Association, suc-
cessor to the National Board of Fire Underwriters, three oppims thereof being on file in
the office of the City Clark.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said Codr is interded to prescribe regulations
governing conMitions tazardous to llfe and property from fire or.explosion, to es-
tablish a Bureau of Fire Prevention, providing officers therefor, and defining the
powers and duties of said officers. Said Code will supersede the 19E6 edition of the
Fire Prevention Code, heretofore on October 7, 1959, adopted by Ordinance No, 1322, 333. ,
which ordinance will be repealed by the orMinance adopting said 1965 edltion.
