OF J. FRANK COAKIEY ON TEE OCCASION OF' HIS RETIREMENT FROM OFFICE
OF DISTRICT ATTORNEY (0 nrE COUNTY. OF ALAMEDA
WHEMEAS, Mr. J. TRADE COAKTEM has retired from the office of District Attorney of the County
of Alameda effective July 1, 1969, completing forty—six yoar m of public service; and
MER.M1a, Mr. Coakley. had, in 1923, been appointed by The 'Honorable Ea/a bbrren as Deputy-
District Attorney of the County of AlAmeda and had subsequentily served as Chief Assistant Diotrict
Attorney; and
WHEREAS, in 1947, after diligent and. cepablo performance of his duties, Mr. Coakley was
appointed to the office of District Attorney of' the County- of Alameda; and
WHEREAS, Rtr. Coakley had brought national recognition to himself and to the County of Alameda.
by his competent discharge of the funotions of his office, and had been honored on mans occasions for
his role in public law and for his participation in the activities of legal societies of national scope
in connection with his profession.
NOW, THEREFORE, EE if RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Alameda hereby acknowledges
with great esteem the many years of outstanding service rendered by this faithful publin servant on behalf
of the peoplp of the City and of the County cif Alameda, and commends him most highly for hie sense of
integrity and devotion to duty6
PE IT FUREATER RESOLVED that the Council of the Cit- of Alameda, on behalf of the citizens of
the community, hereby extends to Or. Coakley its sincere congratuiatiens on his retirement and its best
wishes for his continued good health and happiness.
HE 11 FURTHER RESOINTED, that the City Glory transmit, a certifid' copy 3f this resoittien to
FRANK COAKEET as a token of anpreclation and commencation from the Council of the City of 1Lameda.
