CONCURRING WITH TECHNICAL ASPECTS OF PROPOSED FEDERAL PLANS
FOR REPLACEMENT OF FRUITVALE AVENUE BRIDGE
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Alameda has received a communication dated
July 20, 1970, from Colonel Charles R. Roberts, District Engineer, San Francisco District, U. S. Army
Corps of Engineers, which communication outlines a proposal for the replacement of the Fruitvale
Avenue Bridge; and
WHEREAS, before the Army Engineers will proceed with detailed engineering design of said
structure it is required that the City of Alameda provide certain assurances with respect to said
proposal; to wit, concurrence with the technical aspects of the proposed plans and assurance that
non-Federal interests will design and construct the approaches together with necessary utility re-
locations for a standard four-lane road;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Alameda concurs in the
technical aspects of the proposed plan as set out in said communication of July 20, 1970, that it
offers assurance that it will provide funds for the design and construction of necessary approaches
within the City of Alameda, and that non-Federal interests will assume costs thereof and of related
utility relocations.

4th day of August, 1970, by the following vote, to wit:
