CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO, 7784
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA IN APPRECIATION
AND COMMENDATION OF BARBARA STEVENSON FOR HER SERVICE TO THE CITY
LET IT BE KNOWN that the Council of the City of Alameda joins with her many friends in paying
tribute to BARBARA STEVENSON.
WHEREAS, Miss Stevenson, during the many years of her employment as Women's Editor of the
Alameda Times-Star, has extended to the residents and to the social, cultural and philanthropic organi-
zations of the City unfailing cooperation in press coverage of their important events, and has earned
personal recognition and brought distinction to the City by winning the highest awards in Statewide
competition for the excellence of the "Social Whirl"; and
WHEREAS, Miss Stevenson has actively fostered and supported various youth activity groups in
the City, having been instrumental in the founding of the Alameda Girls Club, Inc., and the "S" Club
under the guidance of the Soroptimists, Inc., and being an energetic participant in the program of the
Alameda unit of the Girl Scouts of America.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Alameda, in acknowledgement of
the valuable contribution of this generous-hearted woman to the interests of the community and her tire-
less and enthusiastic efforts in behalf of its young people, does hereby express its genuine esteem and
gratitude for her endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Alameda and her many friends in City
government extend to "BARB" sincere wishes for her good health and future happiness.
