CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO, 8060
ACCEPTING A1E:VEDA COUNTY ORDINANCE REGULATING CONSTRUCTION,
REPAYR, RECONSTRUCTION, DESMUCTION OR LIIIIIDONWENT OF
WATER WELLS, A.ND CON0UMR2AIG IN COUNTY ADMINISTEATION
EUFORCEIAIM THEREOF IN CITY OF ALANITA
WBEhEAG, the California Regional Water (4nality Control Board, San Francisco Day Region,
on February 27, 1973, adopted a resolution providing for the establishment of well standards
throughout the Alameda County area for the purposes of regulating the construction, repair,
reconstruction, destruction or abandonment of water wells and cathodic protection well to
protect the water quality of and prevent further degradation to the groundwater supplies in
the County area; and.
WHEREAS, said Resolution notifies the County of Alameda and all incorporated cities in
the County area that well standards are to be adopted Cy the County of Alameda and cities within
120 days of the receipt of the resolution; and
WHEREAS, the County of Alameda, through the activities of the Alameda County Flood Control
and Water Conservation District, a division of the Public Works Department of the County of Alameda,
has existing programs in water well operations for water supply purposes, well data collection,
destruction of abandoned wolls, and other well related activities; and
WHEREA8, the County of Alameda has prepared a well standards ordinance and would admin-
ister and enforce said ordinance in the unincorporated areas of the County; and
EIEEREAS, the County of Alameda would extend administration and enforcement of said
ordinance into areas of any municipality or municipalities in the County area subject to concur-
rence of such extension by such municipality or municipalities;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED 'MAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF 'TM CITY OF 116! 0. hereby
accepts the County of Alameda ordinance to regulate the construction, repair, reconstruction,
destruction, or abandonment of wells as being applicable to the City of Alameda; and
ZI IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Alameda hereby concur in
the administration. and enforcement of said ordinance in the City of Alameda by the County of Al2Ineda.

introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the
