Resolution 08235263 CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 8235 SUPPORTING FLUORIDATION OF LOCAL WATER SUPPLIES WHEREAS, the prevention of dental disease is in the best public interest and fluoridation of the water supply is d significant factor in such prevention; and WHEREAS, the Alameda City Dental Society supports the campaign now under way to achieve water fluoridation in the City of Alameda on the ground, among others, that children living in communities in which the public water supply is so treated exhibit a substantially lesser number of dental caries, and that accordingly a similar result in improvement in dental health can be achieved in the City of Alameda; and WHEREAS, the City of Alameda, along with other public agencies served by the East Bay Municipal Utility District, receives fluoride deficient water, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City oa Alameda endorses water fluoridation and encourages residents of the City cf Alameda to cast affirmative votes for fluoridation in the November, 1574, election. * * * * * * * * * * I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 15th day of July, 1974, by the following vote, to wit: AYES: Councilmen Beckon!, Hurwitz and Vice President Corica, (3).
