CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 8298
ADOPTING "GOALS FOR ALAMEDA AS BASIS FOR REVISION OF CITY'S
GENERAL PLAN
WHEREAS, the City Council has recognized the need to update the City's 1968 General
Plan through a citizen planning process;
WHEREAS, the Community Goals Study will provide a significant part of the basis for
updating the City's General Plan through statements of the "Coals for Alameda"; and
WHEREAS, statements of the "Goals for Alameda," as determined by its citizens
through the process of the City-Wide Congress, will be produced through the Community Goals
Study;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that:
1. It is the intention of the City Council to seriously consider "Goals for Alameda'
as the basis for revision of the City's General Plan.
2. The City Council shall hold public hearings on "Goals for Alameda,!' as approved by the
City-Wide Congress, within one month after such action by the City-Wide Congress.
3. Based on the results of these public hearings, the City Council shall adopt a
"Goals for Alameda" as a policy statement to guide the updating of the City's General Plan, and
other City Fldnniny activities,

I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly
introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the
17th day of December, 1974, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES: Councilmen Beckam, Corica, Hurwitz and President La Croix, Jr., (4).
NOES: Councilman McCall, (1).
ABSENT: None.
