CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 8300
FINDING AND DETERMINING THE CERTAIN UNUSED PORTION CF THE NORTHERLY
TERMINUS OF MARKET STREET, REFERRED TO IN RESOLUTION NO. 8281, IS
UNNECESSARY FOR PRESENT CR PROSPECTIVE STREET PURPOSES; FINDING NO
RESERVATION THEREOF, AND DIRECTING CITY CLERK TO CAUSE A CERTIFIED
COPY OF THIS RESOLUTION TO BE RECORDED
WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Alameda did, on November 19, 1974, adopt its Resolution
of Intention No. 8281 declaring its intention to order the vacating of an unused portion of e public
street, being a 20' x 49 1/3 portion of the northerly terminus of Market Street, situated in the
City of Alameda, County of Alameda, State of California, and more particularly described as follows:
A portion of the northern terminus of Market Street, as shown on the "Map
of Alameda", surveyed and drawn by J. T. Stratton, 1853, filed July 24, 1879 in
Book 6 of Maps, page 1, in the Office of the Alameda County Recorder, ard more
particularly described as follows:
BEGINNING at the most eastern corner of the northeastern terminus of said Market
Street, said point being the most northern corner of Lot 8, Block 68,
es shown on said map;
THENCE southwesterly along the southeastern line cf said Market Street, 49-1/3 feet;
THENCE northwesterly at right angles to last said line, 20 feet;
THENCE northeasterly and parallel with said southeastern line of Market Street,
49-1/3 feet, more or less, to the northeastern terminus of said street;
THENCE suutheasterly along the line of last said terminus, 20 feet, more or less, to
the BEGINNING;
and in said Resolution found and determined that public convenience and necessity do not require
reservation by said City of any easements or rights cf way in said portion of said street; and
WHEREAS, particulars of the proposed vacation are shown on that certain map entitled,
'Partial Abandonment Northerly Terminus Market Street," on file in the office of the City Clerk
and being City Engineer's Drawing No. 7132, Case 52; and
WHEREAS, the City Clerk of the City cf Alameda caused said Resolution of Intention to be
duly published and notice thereof and of the time and place of hearing thereon was duly posted in
accordance with the requirements of Part 3 of Division 9, of the Streets and Highways Code of
California; and
WHEREAS, proof of said publication is evidenced by an affidavit of publication now an
file in the office of the City Clerk of said City; and
WHEREAS, proof of said posting of such notices is evidenced by the affidavit of the person
posting said notices, and is now on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City; and
WHEREAS, the matter of said proposed vacation came on regularly for hearing before the
Council of the City of Alameda at this, its regular meeting, or the 7th day of January, 1975, and
at the time and place fixed in said Resolution of Intention; and at such hearing the said Council
heard the evidence offered by all persons interested in said street vacation; and a full hearing
thereon having been had and the matter submitted for determination;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that said Council
hereby finds and determines, from all the evidence submitted, that the certain unused portion of
the northerly terminus of Market Street in said Resolution of Intention and hereinhefore more par-
ticularly described is unnecessary for present and prospective public street purposes and that
public interest requires the vacation of said street.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk is hereby directed tc have a certified copy
of this Resolution recorded in the office of the Recorder of Alameda County, California.

assembled on the 7th day of January, 1975, by the following vote, to wit:
