Resolution 08324Vt7 CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION Nn, 8324 URGING DISCONTINUANCE OF POSTAL SERVICE POLICY OF CURB-SIDE MAIL DELIVERY WHEREAS, the U. S. Postal Service has established a policy of mail delivery to Only curb-side mail boxes for newly-constructed residences, and certain Postal Service Officials may at their discretion apply this policy to certain communities; and WHEREAS, the recent application of said policy to certain residential developments in the City of Alameda has created great inconvenience to new residents of the City; and WHEREAS, said policy has been discriminately applied in Alameda and has resulted in some residents of condominium developments receiving door-to-door delivery of mail while other residents of the same development do not; NOR THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City cf Alameda hereby urges members of the United States Congress and appropriate 5, S. Postal Service officials to discontinue the policy of residential curb-side mail delivery, * * * * * * * * * * I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the lst day of April, 1975, by the following vote, to wit: AYES: Councilmen Beckam, Corica, Hurwitz, McCall and President La Croix, dr., (5), NOES: None.
