Resolution 08336CITY CE ALAHECA RESOLUTION NO. 8336 OPPOSING PASSAGE OF ASSEMBLY BILL NO, 625 ESTABLISHING A REGIONAL GOVERNMENT IN THE SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA WHEREAS, A. B. 625 proposed to establish a system of regional government in the San Francisco Bay Area; and WHEREAS, composition of the government board of the regional governing agency would not have sufficient representation from affected local governments; and WHEREAS, the operation of said regional agency would erode the existing authority of affected local governments and thereby further erode the concept of local "home rule"; and WHEREAS, said regional government proposed would add another unneeded layer of government unresponsive to the needs of people served; NOW, THEREFORE, SE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Alameda opposes the passage of Assembly Bill No. 625. * * * * * * * * * * I, the undersigned, hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and regularly introduced and adopted by the Council of the City of Alameda in regular meeting assembled on the 15th day of April, 1975, by the following vote, to wit: AYES: Councilmen Beckam, Hurwitz, She,iratt and President Corica, (a).
