CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 8378
AMENDING CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO, 8252 BY AMENDING PARAGRAPHS
3.B, 4,B, 8.A and 8.0 THEREOF, AND ADDING PARAGRAPH 9 THERETO,
RELATING TO EDUCATIONAL INCENTIVE PROGRAM, UNIFORM ALLOWANCE, MEDICAL,
DENTAL AND LIFE INSURANCE PLANS FOR EMPLOYEES AND DEFERRED COMPENSATION
PLAN FOR MANAGEMENT EMPLOYEES
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA that Resolution No, 8252, adopted
September 3, 1974, is hereby amended by amending Paragraphs 3,9, 4.B, 8,4 and 8.0 thereof, and
adding Paragraph 9 thereto, to read:
3. EDUCATIONAL INCENTIVE PROGRAM
B. Each sworn member cf the Fire Department, at or below the rank of
Assistant Fire Chief, who qualifies for a Training incentive Award in accordance
with the administrative directive entitled, "Regulations Governing the Fire '
Department Education Advancement Program," shall receive, so long as such
qualifications are retained, an award in the amount of $50,00, $60,00, $70.00
or $90.00 per month, as determined by and in accordance with the qualification
requirements of the program,
4, B. Fire Department, All uniformed members of the Fire Department, shall
receive a sum of money in the amount of $240.00 annually as uniform allowance.
Said allowance to members of the Fire Department shall be in lieu, and take the
place of, the uniform damage replacement program heretofore in effect in said
Department, except as to necessary non-uniform items damaged in the direct
performance of duty.
The allowance provided under 4B shall be paid quarterly, commencing July 1, 1975.
8. MEDICAL, DENTAL, AND LIFE INSURANCE PLANS
A. Health Insurance. The City shall pay the full premium for the employee
and all dependents under one agreed upon health plan provided by either Blue Cross
or Kaiser Foundation,
C. Blood Plan. The City shall continue to pay the full family premium for
an agreed upon plan for blood replacement provided by the BSP Blood plan. This plan
is hereby extended for a second year.
9. DEFERRED COMPENSATION
The City shall, as soon as is practical and feasible, establish a Deferred
Compensation Plan and rake such plan available to management employees. The management
employees eligible to participate in such Deferred Compensation Plan, and the type and
details of such plan are to he determined by the City Council,
