CITY OF ALAMEDA RESOLUTION NO. 8627
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ALAMEDA COMMENDING
RUTH M. DROSSEL FOR HER CIVIC CONTRIBUTIONS
WHEREAS, RUTH M. DROSSEL, National Chair of ALAMEDA-VOTE '76/AMERICA-VOTE '76,
has brought nation-wide recognition to the City of Alameda in the promotion of voter registration
and turnout at the polls for the 1976 Primary and General Elections; and
WHEREAS, through her efforts to have Alameda declared "America's Votingest City by
November 2, 1976", two hundred sixty-seven challenges were received from forty-five states,
plus the District of Columbia, and Alameda added 13,093 persons to its registered rolls since
the purge of the voting lists following the November, 1974 General Election.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Alameda, in acknowledge-
ment of the valuable contribution of this generous-hearted woman to the interests of the
community and the country, does hereby express its genuine esteem and gratitude for her
endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the City of Alameda extends to RUTH M.
DROSSEL sincere wishes for her good health and future happiness.
